We were founded on April 16, 1936 by a group of educators from the Battle Creek School System as the Battle Creek Teachers Association Credit Union. The BlueOx name is a nod to the Midwestern folklore tales of Paul Bunyan and Babe.  The character traits represented in the tales strongly represent our members, our Credit Union, our local community and our state.  Oxen are known for the qualities of hard-work, strength, perseverance, and more.  They are sure-footed and powerful.  These are all great qualities, which are reflected in our educational membership base.
